Bloodspell
I picked this book up because the author will be visiting this week, and I really wanted to write something nice as a review. Sadly that is not to be. The first half of this book was so much like Twilight you could actually compare it scene for scene. The second half got considerably more interesting, but it still lingered far too much on the forbidden love angle for my tastes. There were interesting ideas in here, but they never fully blossomed for me. The writing is a step up from Meyer, but not on par with some of the other teen authors I've read recently. It really pains me to say this, but all in all I found it derivative and mediocre.
