Cry Wolf
I adore the Mercy Thompson series, but for whatever reason I just could not connect with this book. In order for the story to make sense you really have to read the Alpha & Omega short story first, which I went back and did. Even then this book moved slowly for me. The pace was slow, there was a lot of repetition, and the constant shift in perspective made me feel more distanced instead of less. I really liked getting more background on Bran, and I found a lot of the secondary characters interesting, but Charles and Anna left me wanting more. Now that things are established I'm hoping the second book will be a better read.
