WE3: Or The Incredible Journey if there was a lot more bloodshed

WE3 - Frank Quitely, Grant Morrison

I could almost love this graphic novel. Almost. But not quite. The concepts involving animal rights/testing are dear to me, and I found the story intriguing all the way through. The art design and some of the panels were also quite good, though I wasn't a huge fan of the art style itself. Still, somehow the emotional punch didn't quite hit me as hard as it could have. I'm still not certain why. Perhaps because while the animals are clearly sentient they don't have much character or personality. (And I know plenty of animals with an overabundance of character, so I know it could be done.) All of that said, I can already tell this is one I'll be thinking about for quite some time.
